Visa and flight

France is part of the Schengen Agreement. Short-stay visas for up to 90 days are issued by the Embassy of Switzerland in Bishkek. For a long-stay visa, apply to the Embassy of France in Astana; in addition to the standard set of documents, you will need to provide your biometric data.

A flight from the Kyrgyz Republic to France takes 10–15 hours on average. Remember to order a meal and buy a few bottles of water, as the air on board is dry. Choose an aisle seat so you can get up and stretch. On long flights, wear comfortable clothes in layers.
