Visas and flights

All you need to buy tickets to Turkey is a domestic ID and an international passport, as the Kyrgyz Republic and Turkey have a visa-free agreement. The total stay must not exceed 90 days; otherwise the traveller will be fined and deported.

Depending on the departure and arrival cities and the aircraft, the journey takes from 5 to 16 hours. On long flights, remember to order in-flight meals.

Best time to buy flights

Turkey is a year-round destination, and each region has its own tourist season. The country is most popular from June to September. To explore its culture and sights at a relaxed pace, choose the cooler months, when holidays also cost less. In winter, Turkey is worth a trip for its ski resorts.

Time and communications

Turkey is in the UTC+3 time zone, three hours behind Kyrgyzstan. Clocks are not changed for summer time.

On arrival, you can buy a transport map showing the routes of the main types of public transport. The easiest and fastest way to get around is by car, which you can rent for $55–60. Car hire is available to drivers aged 21 and over.
